Hi Carol & Scottish United Board,

I will try to send a few pics one at a time. I just want to say thank you again for your kind donations. You should have seen the look on the kid's faces when we dumped the balls out of the bags. They were so excited! Some of the children had never touched a real ball before. They generally use rags wrapped with string. The sports camp was a huge success! The coaches were so appreciative of all of the equipment that we left behind. Part of the sports camp was to start to prepare the children who go to school in the village for inter-school competition. They have never played an actual game. Well... they played their first game a few weeks back and won! They were so excited! You will never know the impact to which your donations affected the children and village. THANK YOU!

Cheers,
Linda (former Scottish Assistant Coach 1995 Girls)

The Scottish United Soccer Club
is the youth division of the NWU (Northwest United) Soccer Club, one of Edmonton's oldest originating soccer clubs incorporated in 1977. The name of the youth division was changed in 2006 to Scottish United to reflect the youth program's relationship with the Edmonton Scottish Society and the NWUnited Major League Program,
dropping the NW as the youth league operates
out of Edmonton's SW (southwest) Zone.
We draw on the long and successful history of the club to provide our players with one of the best programs in the City. As proud members of
the Interdistrict Youth Soccer Association (EIYSA), we are striving to be the best!

To that end, we offer superior coaching (see here for coaching CV's), technical/tactical support and various additional training opportunities. Our training programs are structured to be dynamic in nature to accommodate and adapt to the developmental needs of our various age categories and particular needs of each individual team.
Following are just a few of the benefits you will enjoy as a member of Scottish

1) Supplemental team training is with our new inhouse technical team who have created a program specifically for Scottish which is second to none
2) All keepers will get training with Jennifer Jubinville (included). They will also have a portion of their goalie equipment costs subsidized by the Club. Please submit receipts to Treasurer direct for reimbursement
(all schedules managed under training schedules link)
3) All players receive (a) training shirt & shorts (b) pair of socks (c) club funding for one tournament (d) comprehensive technical/educational program 4) All teams will have one coach with formal first aid training/certification (mandated by the Club) beginning outdoor 2008
5) International travel is on the agenda for some of our U14 and U16 teams. From Italy to Brazil, to tournament action in the U.S., these teams are looking to expand their horizons...
NEWS: U14G(T1) make plans for the San MarinoCup (Italy) 2009
6) All members will get the opportunity to develop their
skills (soccer and life), their sense of sportsmanship and fairplay and their continued love of the game of soccer, within a club mandated positive environment
7) Opportunities to play with the Alberta Select Teams
8) Close contact (scouting and training opportunities) with the men's and ladies major league and premier league programs...playing options from U12 to Major League and Adult League
9) All home league games at the Edmonton Scottish Soccer Fields, Edmonton's premier outdoor soccer pitch
